Now texting, most websites and all cell phones in Iran are shut down by the government as violence breaks out over Ahmadinejad's supposed 62% win over Mousavi 34%. Prior to the elections it was expected to be a near split between the two candidates. Video from earlier today:

Police on steroids 2
In what looks to be a case of police brutality, a 72-year-old great-grandmother was tasered after apparently refusing to sign a ticket during a traffic stop. Police insist that they were doing everything by the book, but using a taser on a senior citizen at a traffic stop strikes one as excessive use of force.

Colleen also mentioned to me that Seedum is popular in Mexico as a food. It's not 100% a weed but sure grows like one.
Anyone want to add any others to the comments below? I'm looking at you Rosie (and Maeve)....

Conservatives begin to shift on Don't ask Don't tell
A new Gallup poll shows that 69 percent of Americans are now in favor of openly gay men and women serving in the military, up from 63 percent five years ago. Support among liberals and Democrats remains high -- around 86 percent and 83 percent respectively -- but the biggest shift in support occurred among conservatives and Republicans. Fifty-eight percent of people who identify as conservatives say they support gays serving in the military, up from 12 points from 46% in 2004. Fifty-eight percent of Republicans support what is essentially a repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
