Monarchists of the year - 2008 prt 1 and 2

9/08/2008
acknowledged - this is a very narrow subject of interest but i find it fascinating that so many young faces across Europe would prefer a monarchy to a simple republic. it may sound strange but i remember being stopped to be searched at the Canadian border between Quebec and New York State and being somewhat startled to see a portrait of Queen Elizabeth next to her "gracious proclamation" of autonomy for Canada. it's just something we forget all about here in the States.

part 1:
"Mitteleuropäische Monarchisten, monarchistische Studenten und Mitglieder von Traditionsregimentern versammeln sich in Wien nach dem Begräbnis Erzherzog Carl Ludwigs auf Einladung der SGA.
uncle matts probably imperfect translation (help anja or stephen k.! - care to translate, roughly, the rest of the text from the vids?):
"Middle-European Monarchists, monarchist students and their supporters from traditional ranks gather in Vienna for the afuneral of Carl Ludwig by the invitation of the SGA."

part 2:

rosie will like the funeral footage at the end of part two for the descendant and heir of the Habsburgs.

and a modern Russian monarchist - i appreciate his passion but maybe there is something a little over the top going on here? and why use a German song to glorify the tsar? well, actually - Catherine the great, tsarina Alexandra - oh - never mind - all the royal families of Europe were German really weren't they? anyone care to post a comment on what the original name of the English royal family of today was - before they became the Windsors?

the answer is in one of the videos above - in fact the location that gave them their name was called "the stud farm of the european royals" - egads!
