"Part of me loves this controversial and risky story. I love the premise and I mostly love the show, but the simple-minded and constant tongue-in-cheek sophomoric references to gay rights and gay issues potentially borders on distasteful and possibly does us some harm.

Vampires are fighting stereotypes and coming out of the coffin. We even have a vampire bar and vampire hags. Vampires are under attack by right wing Evangelicals. Vampires are fighting for equality.
